Hibarigaoka Junior High School

Hibarigaoka is a small school with only two kumis per grade level. This means that your class load will be very small and you will find yourself with a lot of free time. Try to make the best of it by participating in other classes (art, P.E., music, home ec.) as much as possible! You will most likely not be invited directly, so try to be as proactive as possible.

I highly recommend finding a club you are interested in and going as much as possible, this will help you get to know the students better even if you don't have a lot of classes with them. The students themselves are pretty high level energy, a bit "rougher" than other schools, but if you have a sense of humor they are extremely friendly and open. The teachers are extremely friendly in Japanese, but rather shy in English.

Planning with your OTEs is minimal at best, last minute at worst, so just try to keep on your toes and have a few good go-to activities you can use. There isn't much emphasis on English here, but if you ask to implement new English related activities/areas, you will mostly likely be encouraged. For example, I started an English board and letter exchange box.
