I like Anpanman!
This is simply a voting activity to see which cartoon character is the most popular. This activity was an unexpected hit! The students really wanted their favorite character to win.
After teaching "What color do you like?" and "What food do you like?" this game is a fun way to finish the lesson.
- Show the class the cartoon flash cards. Demonstrate "What cartoon do you like?" and "I like ~ ". Place the flashcards on the board with magnets.
- Ask each student individually "What cartoon do you like?" Each student says who they like - "I like Anpanman" / "I like Snoopy" /"I like Pikachu" / "I like Micky" / "I like Nemo". Give the cartoon a point.
- When all students have said who they like, as a class count up the votes on each cartoon and declare a winner.
If there is a tie, I found it fun to make two fans of each cartoon janken holding the cartoon character over their face. In all three of my classes, Anpanman and Snoopy battled it out to the very end.
