What is that School Supply?!?! Learning through Interaction

Objective
To teach students the school supply vocabulary: stapler, eraser, pen, pencil, pencil case, paper, and scissors.

INTRODUCTION:

Review school supply vocabulary:
stapler, eraser, pen, pencil, pencil case, paper, and scissors.
Show students example of real-life school
supplies (preferably their own supplies) and review the vocabulary again.

ACTIVITY:

  1. Using the school supplies given, have the students make shape-necklaces.
    Students can use a number of shapes, including stars, hearts, and
    circles.
  2. Have the students use their colored pencils and pens to draw pictures and designs.
  3. Use scissors to cut out their designs.
  4. Use a stapler to attach string to make the design into a necklace.
Notes

Whenever the student uses a school supply on the school supply vocabulary list, make sure you say the word many times. The more the student hears and uses the word, the faster they will memorize the vocabulary.
